Welcome to the Official website for the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 11-5.
The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is a component of the U.S. Cost Guard & U.S.
Department of Homeland Security.
Flotilla 11-5 operates in northern Nevada, from Pyramid Lake to Lake Topaz and from
Lake Tahoe to the Nevada state line with Utah.
"The mission of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is to contribute to the safety
and security of our citizens, ports, waterways, and coastal regions, as directed
by the United States Coast Guard. We will balance our missions in Recreational Boating
Safety, Coast Guard Support with Maritime Homeland Security and other challenges
that emerge as a result of our growing understanding of changes required in the
post-'9/11' era"

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary courses provide instruction to boaters at all levels, from the fundamental to the advanced. Our courses are taught by experienced and knowledgeable instructors committed to the highest standards of the U.S. Coast Guard. Did you know that Nevada law requires any person who was born on or after Jan 1st 1983, who operates a vessel of 15hp or more including personal watercraft on interstate waterways such as Lake Tahoe or Topaz to have completed a boating safety class! Class offered for the state of Nevada boating education requirements are; About Boating Safety or Boating Skills and Seamanship. The next available class for About Boating Safely will be held on: March 20th 8:30am The class is held at the IGT training center in South Reno.
